Warriors players have an incredible opportunity to learn from elite basketball coaches like Coach Troy. He brings energy, passion and inspiration to Warriors Basketball Club where he’s been a coach for 2 years. Beyond basketball, Coach Troy’s story is an inspiration and he brings his life experience to all the athletes he coaches at Warriors Basketball Club.
Coach battled osteosarcoma in 2004 which was then diagnosed to terminal cancer. He lost his left arm and was given only 6 months to live in 2007.
In December 2018 Coach Troy was diagnosed cancer free and he didn’t receive any treatment. He changed his lifestyle to eating natural whole foods, exercise, and mental thinking and because of that he is grateful to be in complete remission.
In 2020 Troy won the JR NBA Coach of the year for the Golden State Warriors. GSW shared his story called “The fighting spirit “ which in 2021 won a Northern California Emmy Award. It’s an amazing privilege to have Coach Troy work with our kids and we’ve included the video below as it is well worth the watch.
